ABOUT

Lindsay D’Amour Williams is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist working in works on paper, exploring abstraction, emergence, and threshold states. She earned her BFA in illustration from Parsons School of Design in New York City and has worked across publishing, performance, and independent visual practice.

Her early career includes commercial illustration and experimental performance, touring throughout the United States and Europe, and an appearance on America’s Got Talent. Williams is the creator of published tarot and oracle decks, including The Desert Illuminations Tarot (U.S. Games Systems), situating contemporary tarot within a broader cultural publishing context.

She is currently developing Thresholds, an evolving body of work in which abstraction and archetypal form intersect, examining the instability of image as it moves between field and presence.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Williams’ current body of work explores the instability of form as it emerges from dense fields of black. Working in chalk pastel and mixed media on paper, she constructs environments in which archetypal presences surface and recede, existing between abstraction and figuration. The work resists fixed narrative, inviting viewers to encounter the image at a threshold between recognition and disssolution.
